By hosting workshops with Philadelphia middle and high schoolers, as well as college students who identify as first generation or lower income, The Economic Justice Partnership teaches the basics of budgeting and financial empowerment. The Wharton students running the program are also examining the root causes of economic inequality by investigating policies built on both historic and systemic racism.

This initiative is a winner of the Projects for Progress award, which recognizes efforts to promote equity and inclusion throughout Philadelphia. With the Projects for Progress funding, The Economic Justice Partnership is able to award $250 investment stipends to participants once they complete the workshops so that they can begin putting their learnings into practice.
